Mango Prices Fall in Range as Fresh Stock Reach Market

April 29 12:09 2015

mango1New Delhi, Wednesday, April 29 – Summers did not knock at the doors on a happy note for the mango lovers thanks to the high price of the ‘king of fruits’. For more than a few weeks, a variety of juicy fruit kept on oscillating between INR 130 and INR 160 per kilo. Since the rates went to the roof, many buyers waited a bit more to see a drop. And now, they are content to see fresh stocks coming into the wholesale and retail market.

The bountiful output has pulled the prices down to a certain extent that enable populace to at least relish the taste without giving a thought to another point. Not to forget that mango marked a pricey entry this season after sudden precipitation hit the standing crops in the fields in the middle of March.

If actual picture of the market is to be painted then situation is not yet too good as the masses are compromising on the quantity. As compared to the cost of mangoes a year ago, the mob will have to slightly splurge to get the fruit in required kilograms. Carrie is still priced at INR 20 per 250 grams that might make homemakers to think twice before preparing pickles. The residents will have to wait for next 15 to 20 days to witness the plunge in rates.
